About the role

Applications are sought from suitably qualified and experienced teachers who are passionate about teaching in an online environment. We are seeking a full time learning support teacher but are open to part time applicants*.

* Please note that online teachers are required to work from our Casey office currently in Skye.

The position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for identity, rights to work in Australia, and child protection in accordance with CEM policy.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD), ensuring compliance and accurate recordkeeping.
  • Coordinate and support Student Support Group (SSG) meetings in collaboration with families, teachers, and allied health professionals.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that reflect student needs and measurable goals.
  • Contribute to the enrolment process by providing professional advice regarding adjustments and supports for students with additional learning needs.
  • Manage and provide direction to Learning Assistants, ensuring effective and consistent delivery of support programs.
  • Coordinate special provisions and adjustments for VCE and NAPLAN assessments in accordance with VCAA and ACARA requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to promote inclusive practices and differentiated instruction across all subject areas.
  • Other duties as required by the Head of ACCVO and the Principal

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Evidence of the right to work in Australia
  • Proof of identity
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Clearance status of the Working with Children Check (where applicable)
  • Registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
  • Statements of service from previous child-connected roles
  • References from previous child-connected roles

About you

  • Be able to display the capacity to improve student learning outcomes.
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent teaching as described by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
  • Be able to receive feedback on your teaching and implement changes.
  • Be able to effectively plan for, collect and analyse educational data, then devise appropriate strategies and interventions to improve student outcomes.
