About the role

We are seeking a committed Christian Child Safe and Wellbeing Officer to join our ACC Victoria Online team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is a unique and pivotal role within a growing state-wide online school. The Child Safe and Wellbeing Officer plays a key role in ensuring that all students are safe, supported and appropriately engaged in their learning environment, while also supporting the College to meet its obligations under the Victorian Child Safe Standards (Ministerial Order 1359).

Working within a virtual education model, this role requires a high level of discernment, professionalism and initiative. You will be responsible for identifying and responding to wellbeing and child safety concerns, supporting staff and families, and contributing to systems that ensure students remain safe and connected despite learning remotely.

As a foundational member of a small and collaborative team, you will help shape the culture, systems and best practice approaches to student wellbeing at ACC Victoria Online. You will work closely with leadership, teaching staff and families across the state to ensure that students are well supported and that concerns are responded to promptly, appropriately and in line with College policy.

Please note that all Victoria Online Staff are required to work onsite out of Casey Campus in Skye.

This full time role is expected to start 20 April 2026 or as soon thereafter.

Specific Role Responsibilities

  • Act as a first point of contact for child safety and wellbeing concerns, providing advice and support to staff, students and families
  • Identify, assess and respond to student wellbeing risks, including escalation in line with the Child Safety Responding and Reporting Obligations Policy (including the Four Critical Actions)
  • Monitor student engagement and wellbeing indicators (including attendance, communication and wellbeing data) to identify students at risk
  • Coordinate and support Virtual Visits, including contributing to the assessment of the student’s Place of Learning and follow-up actions where concerns are identified
  • Implement targeted interventions for students of concern, which may include wellbeing plans, communication plans with families, and ongoing monitoring
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, leadership and external agencies to support student wellbeing and safety
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of wellbeing concerns, actions and follow-up in the Student Information System (SIS)
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and review of Child Safety and Wellbeing policies, procedures and practices
  • Participate in the monitoring and review of the Child Safety Risk Register and Online Learning Risk Assessment processes
  • Support a culture where students feel known, safe and supported, and where concerns are raised and responded to appropriately
  • Provide guidance and support to staff in responding to wellbeing and child safety matters within an online learning context

Common Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide a child safe environment in accordance with the child safe standards;
  • Participate in child safety and wellbeing induction and training provided by the school and always follow the school’s child safety and wellbeing policies and procedures;
  • Act in accordance with our Child Safety Code of Conduct;
  • Identify and raise concerns about child safety issues in accordance with our Child Safety Responding and Reporting Obligations Policy and Procedures, including following the Four Critical Actions for Schools;
  • Model and promote the vision and values of the school;
  • Maintain records of class attendance and recording student progress;
  • Implement effective student management consistent with the school’s strategic plan;
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings as required;
  • Be actively involved in regular staff devotions and prayer.
