ACADEMIC IMPROVEMENT
What’s academically distinctive about ACC?
Whether your children need to be stretched, are struggling, or are somewhere in between, our committed team of teachers will help move them forward.
We’re the opposite of everything trendy and faddish in education. At ACC, our academic program is based on the timeless principles of goal setting, hard work, assessment, reflection and feedback. Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm are highly valued by teachers who apply a coaching mindset in the classroom with the motive of helping students improve.
Students improve their results by knowing their starting point, setting goals to encourage progress and then engaging in meaningful learning to move toward their goals. This academic approach acknowledges that where your children begin their learning journey is less important than where they end it.
Students join us with diverse academic abilities. Some are already achieving good grades, but many are struggling. Our focus on progress sees lower achieving students improve and good students become great.

CHARACTER FORMATION
How does ACC help my child become a better person?
We believe that who students become is more valuable than what they know. What they know is important, however character traits like resilience and humility will serve a student well throughout life. Our students emerge from school able to empathise with people, to understand the nuances of social interaction, to stretch beyond what’s considered normal in the pursuit of a goal and to approach challenges with courage.
ACC combines traditional values of good manners, discipline and respect with modern technology, academic improvement and faith development. We inspire every student to strive for their personal best - inside the classroom and beyond.

What’s it like at ACC?
We’re a community where our students are well known, well loved and well supported. Students want teachers who notice them, ask about their interests, listen to them, laugh with them and believe in them. Positive relationships are the bedrock of our school community.
We want our students to know how uniquely gifted they are, how to manage their thoughts and feelings, and what they can do with those gifts and abilities.
Our teachers speak words of life and hope as they work with students to unlock their potential and equip them with the right skills to thrive in a technologically complex world.
FAITH DEVELOPMENT
What does it mean to be a Christian school?
For us, a Christian school is defined by teaching and interacting in a gospel-centred way. The school community pulses to the rhythm of grace, truth and mercy. The lessons taught in our classrooms—which encourage critical thinking, curiosity and reflection—are built on a solid Christian foundation.
As a Christian school, we educate young people who act compassionately and graciously yet think deeply and biblically. The school’s purpose is to transform young people academically, emotionally and spiritually for lives of significance and service.
