Online distance education students are supported by a team of university-qualified and experienced teachers who are specialists in delivering education online. Please click on the photos below for a brief introduction from each teacher.
Malcolm Bromhead
Principal
Malcolm began working as a District Officer on foster care, child abuse and school truancy. In 1985 he commenced teaching and in 2005 was appointed Principal of St Philip’s Christian College in NSW where the school grew from 25 to 900 students by 2014. Malcolm has a Bachelor of Education and he is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Education. His faith is grounded in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Malcolm has been married for over 45 years and enjoys his bike rides around the Albany shoreline and coffee shop stops.
Terry Phipson
Head of Online
Terry was born in South Africa and arrived in Australia in 1999. As Head of Online, Terry finds the uniqueness of online learning exhilarating and looks forward to the future with great expectation. Terry has each child's best interest at heart and looks for ways to provide an outstanding online experience for them. Outside work, Terry has four daughters who bring her great joy and have blessed her with four son-in-laws and a growing tribe of grandchildren.
Tina King
Online Teacher
As a teacher, Tina loves to create an environment that nurtures the individual child and recognises the unique way God has wired them to learn. By using literature, music, art and movement she ensures all students are engaged and motivated. In Tina’s spare time she loves to read, write, walk, cook and listen to music, but her ‘happy place’ is exploring God’s creation through travel.
Peter Milnes
Online Teacher
Peter has a Bachelor of Education from Curtin, a Masters of Educational Administration and a PhD in Educational History from UNE. He is currently enrolled in a Masters of Education at Murdoch, researching cross cultural understanding in the classroom. Peter has taught for over 30 years in both schools and universities. He is married to Genevene and they have 4 children and 9 grandchildren. Peter and Genevene live on a 10 acre farm outside Mt Barker.
Kathryn Rosair
Online Teacher
Kathryn is an online teacher at ACC who has a passion for Christ, love for her family and pets, and an eagerness to support and educate students regardless of their current ability. She is excited by the rich learning potential which an online environment brings and thrives on the challenges associated with a digital pedagogy. Kathryn spends her spare time outside in her garden, walking her pup, or enjoying a cuppa on the verandah.
Meredith Aguero
Teacher
Meredith completed her Bachelor of Education in 2014 at Edith Cowan University. Meredith has always loved working with children and believes it’s a privilege to help them in their learning journey. When on holidays, she loves to travel with her husband. This might involve camping somewhere in Western Australia or exploring the sights of another country. Meredith is serving in the children’s ministry, youth group and women’s ministry at her local church.
Loretta Upton
Online Teacher
Loretta began in education in 1996 when asked if she would work as a teachers assistant. That same year she was asked to teach some classes and found herself becoming a full time PrePrimary/Year 1 class teacher. Since then, she has worked mainly in the K-2 area but has also been the Literacy Support Teacher. Loretta has been married for 27 years has 7 daughters and 18 grandchildren. She loves gardening, crafts and time with her family.
Naomi Macgregor
Online Teacher
Naomi completed a Higher Diploma in Secondary Education in 1992. She started her teaching career in South Africa the following year. Naomi is a committed lifelong learner and has completed various qualifications through distance education while teaching, including a Hons degree in Educational Management. She immigrated to Australia and started teaching at ACC in 2012. Naomi’s greatest professional joy occurs when students lose their fear for Maths. On the weekends she likes to relax and read.
Wee Wing Kuen
Online Teacher
Wing Kuen has been teaching at the school since 2012 and has a Postgraduate Diploma in Secondary Education, Bachelor in Exercise and Sports Science and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Wing Kuen is passionate about seeing each child reach their full potential by maximising their God given talents and gifts. In his spare time, he is involved with coaching football (the World Game) to children of all ages, in addition to men and women in Albany.
Daniel Pitman
Online Teacher
Born and raised in Albany, Daniel completed his schooling locally after which he completed an apprenticeship before moving to Perth where he married. While in Perth Daniel completed a Bachelor of Education. His first teaching years were spent in the Pilbara. Since returning to Albany, he has taken up a teaching position at ACC. At church Daniel serves by playing guitar and on the weekend enjoys taking the dog for early morning runs and spending time with his family.

Marilyn Myhill
Online Teacher
Marilyn has always loved reading and particularly enjoyed completing her English degree. This love has been transferred to teaching English to her students. Marilyn believes that it is a privilege to watch students engage with new ideas and learn to see issues from different perspectives. As an English teacher, Marilyn believes that it is in stories that we find out who we are. Reading is a unique way of experiencing freedom.
Bronwyn Jansz
Online Teacher
Bronwyn has worked at Australian Christian College since late 2011, mostly in the Primary years as a classroom teacher, both online and on campus. God has blessed Bronwyn with the opportunity to be a part of the learning journey of so many children and it is her joy to see their growth and development as learners and people. Bronwyn enjoys a variety of artistic pursuits, including music, drawing, crochet, writing and exploring other cultures and languages.
Tim Burns
Chaplain
BOriginally a PE teacher, Tim is enjoying a change of direction into Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care. He works 2 days a week as a Youth Pastor and 3 days as the Chaplain at ACC. Tim is a father of 4, husband, average but passionate musician, proud Tasmanian, hockey player and Collingwood supporter. Daily he’s learning to allow Jesus Christ to shape all of his living and being - totally dependant on the grace of God in this endeavour.
Susan Whiston
Online Teacher
Susan moved to Albany in 2018 with her husband and two children after teaching for over a decade in WA’s public schools. Susan loves adapting her teaching style to suit individual students and is keen to always be learning as a teacher. On the weekends, Susan’s family relishes acting like tourists by visiting new places and undertaking adventures in and around Albany. Having lived in the Pilbara, Perth and England, Susan’s family have finally found home.
Russell Hunt
Online Teacher
Russell was born in Sydney, grew up in Perth and moved to Albany with his wife and daughter many years ago. Russell became a Christian in 1988 while travelling around Australia in a Kombi. He has been a high school teacher for most of his working life, with the majority of that time in Christian education. Russell fellowships at Calvary Chapel Albany and is slowly working his way through a Masters in Divinity.
Brenda Nelson
Online Teacher
Brenda completed her education degree in South Africa in 1985. She taught for many years both in the Primary and Early Childhood sectors. Brenda relocated to London where she taught for 10 years before joining Australian Christian College in 2010. She has taught online and on campus and loves the enthusiasm for learning shown by her students. At the weekend, Brenda enjoys gardening, spending time with her husband and exploring 'The Great Outdoors'.

Louise Shenfield
Online Teacher
Louise absolutely loves teaching and the privilege of witnessing a student’s “aha moment” when they understand something for the first time. Outside of work she enjoys reading novels and watching all genres of movies with her husband. Louise has a passion for travel, especially around Europe. Most of all, she loves to sing! Louise is a grateful Christian and thanks God everyday for the many blessings in her life, especially the gift of motherhood.
Holly Beeck
Online Teacher
Holly has a Bachelor of Science and Diploma of Education from Murdoch University and worked as a science teacher. Holly then completed a Masters in Health Counselling and worked as a School Counsellor. In addition to teaching, Holly has worked at UWA and currently works for Relationships Australia. Holly has been married to Phil for 23 years and they have three wonderful boys. On the weekends, she enjoys spending time with her family, church, watching football and reading.
Stephen Hurworth
Online Teacher
Stephen studied Liberal Arts at the University of Cape Town before migrating to Australia. He is also a graduate of Charles Sturt University where he studied Learning Technologies and Moore Theological College. Combining a love of classics with technology originally drew him to online learning about 10 years ago so it has been exciting for Stephen to re-engage with this growing medium at ACC. He is married to Catherine with two daughters, two dogs, a parrot and a cat.
Chris van der Merwe
Online Teacher
Chris was born and raised in Southern Africa, schooled in Zimbabwe and studied for a BA and Education Diploma in South Africa. He taught Maths and Science at various high schools for 19 years, then moved to Perth 14 years ago with his wife and 3 children. Chris taught at various schools in Perth before joining ACC. He enjoys going for walks along Perth’s rivers with his wife and two Chihuahua dogs and reading non-fiction books.
