ACADEMIC IMPROVEMENT
Students continually striving to improve their academic results
Students improve their results by knowing their starting point, setting goals to encourage progress and then engaging in meaningful learning to move toward their goals.
This is what we call academic improvement. It acknowledges that where you begin your learning journey is less important than where you end.
Students join us with diverse academic abilities. Some are already achieving good grades, but many are struggling. Our focus on progress sees lower achieving students improve and good students become great.
STUDENT IMPROVEMENT SHOWCASECHARACTER FORMATION
Who students become is more valuable than what they know
What they know is important, however character traits like resilience and humility will serve a student well throughout life.
Young people should emerge from school able to empathise with people, to understand the nuances of social interaction, to stretch beyond what’s considered normal in the pursuit of a goal and to approach challenges with courage.
As a Christian school, we also want graduates to leave with a vibrant faith in Jesus, who take responsibility for their choices and who possess the ability to navigate an uncertain future.
SEE OUR STUDENT ATTRIBUTESTEACHING TEAM
We're creating a truly authentic Christian Learning Community
A learning community is comprised of people, including teachers. Great teachers can teach in a tent, yet many schools invest heavily in facilities.
At ACC, we believe in featuring our teachers not our buildings. Our teachers are dedicated, hopeful, loving, fun, professional, humble, approachable and generally all-out fabulous (hey, what happened to humble?).
MEET OUR TEACHERSSTUDENT CARE
This is a place where young people thrive
Young people thrive when they are well known, well loved and well supported.
Students want teachers who notice them, ask about their interests, listen to them, laugh with them and believe in them. Positive relationships are the bedrock of our school community.
We want our students to know how uniquely gifted they are, how to manage their thoughts and feelings, and what they can do with those gifts and abilities.
Our teachers speak words of life and hope as they work with students to unlock their potential and equip them with the right skills to thrive in a technologically complex world.
